PRESS RELEASE

In the UAE, SELTA presents STCE-NG together with its last innovations in Automation and Smart Grids.

The Italian company will be at Middle East Energy 2020 in Dubai (3-5 March) also with the new IoT-ready automation solution for gas transport network.

At the Middle East Energy 2020 in Dubai, the international fair dedicated to the energy world scheduled for March 3 to 5 in the United Arab Emirates, SELTA, the Italian technological company that designs and manufactures solutions to innovate critical network infrastructures, in addition to the latest news relating to the automation of electrical networks, will also present its new solution designed for gas transmission networks, STCE-NG.

STCE-NG is a system developed with the aim of supervising and remote control the primary gas transmission networks. It is a new generation RTU, born in a market context such as the current one in which operators set themselves the goal of rationalizing and optimizing their networks in a sustainable way, thus offering multi-utilities the opportunity to serve own industrial and thermoelectric consumers with high performance, in addition to urban distribution networks. Based on innovative technologies and characterized by a high level of intelligence, it is able to monitor and intervene on the transport network system in coordination with the control centers. STCE-NG is equipped with specific interfaces in the gas world (PIMOS / HART), implements the Cyber Security requirements specified by the IEC 62351 standard and, where required, acts as a gateway in IoT-type solutions.

“The STCE-NG solution is the result of our deep knowledge and experience in the network automation market, which also finds application in the Oil & Gas sector. The company’s ability to customize based on specific customer requirements in a lean and fast way, certainly also plays a distinctive role, “says Stefano Crespi, extraordinary commissioner, director of SELTA. “In Italy, the solution has already been deployed for some months on the gas transmission network managed by the main Italian operator,” adds Crespi.

At the Middle East Energy in Dubai, SELTA will also bring its latest technologies as regards electricity grids, such as the remote control and monitoring equipment of the electricity distribution network stations, designed to manage a distributed system in which there is an exchange of information between the system and other devices, such as transducers, automatic control, protection and recording devices, local supervision systems.

SELTA was among the first companies in Europe to develop platforms for the management and optimization of electricity grids. Today its solutions are an integral part of the main Smart Grid projects in Europe. In various areas of the world, SELTA is active with network development projects in partnership with national operators such as in Pakistan, where SELTA solutions are at the basis of the modernization of the national power grid managed by the operator NTDC, currently underway.

SELTA is the largest Italian manufacturer of technologies and solutions for the automation of electrical networks, enterprise communications, telecommunications and cyber security, an area for which it carries out various activities for the Italian Ministry of Defense.

In Italy, SELTA is located in Cadeo (Piacenza), Tortoreto (Teramo) and Rome, while at international level it operates with a consolidated network of partners. SELTA works with energy and transport operators, telco operators and service providers, governments, public bodies and companies of all sizes in over 20 countries around the world.
