SELTA AT CIGRE’ 2018
SELTA at CIGRE 2018 (26-31 August) with Everything Connected and Protected serving energy networks
PRESS RELEASE
SELTA at CIGRE 2018 (26-31 August) with Everything Connected and Protected serving energy networks
The brand, leading in the market of intelligent automation systems for energy and transport critical infrastructures, will be in Paris with its innovations in Cyber Security
In the prestigious showcase of CIGRE in Paris, one of the most important European events for operators in the electrical world, SELTA will present the latest solutions for network automation in which embedded Cyber Security and performance improvements are the most innovative aspects.
To the new paradigms of networks operations, which increasingly integrate renewable sources, there is a growing need to focus on security problems to avoid attacks that would have social consequences, since the electricity grid is one of the main critical infrastructures in a country.
With its presence at the Parisian week, the Italian company confirms its leadership in the European market, and not only, also worldwide, as one of the first vendors that has been able to respond to these new scenarios with Smart Grid projects and advanced intelligent automation systems to which, today, are added solutions for the Internet of Things.

CPU4000: better performance and security for STCE-RTU
This is the most important innovation introduced by SELTA for the current year, it is the new Central Processing Unit that will be included in the STCE-RTU system, significantly increasing overall performance as well as introducing new Cyber Security services that will protect even more the network from potential attacks made through the connected systems. CPU4000 uses the most advanced standard protocols for synchronization and security. The range of possible applications is also extended, including those typical of the Oil & Gas sector.
Small and Smart, STCE-R, the remote control unit with expansion modules
SELTA STCE-R, designed with a distributed architecture, both for the collection and transmission of data and for dialogue with central devices such as SCADA, thanks to its local intelligence and advanced communication protocols, evolves with the new version that includes external modules. The extension extends the number of analog-to-digital I / O ports and metering capabilities. With the new version, the fields of application are expanded, from the control of high and medium voltage networks to the management of lighting systems and urban telecontrol for smart cities.
Remote management with the MV / RECLOSER interruption circuit
As a control and monitoring solution for the largest number of internal / external interruption / reclosure circuits in the MV distribution network, the new STCE-D-I is presented, which is based on a modular architecture that is also suitable for revamping existing MV substations. The outdoor version is characterized by a high level of resistance to environmental conditions.
In Paris there will be also SELTA BRAVO IoT, the platform launched last year by the Italian company that, through a single architecture, connects devices of all kinds, from those of Unified Communications (telephones, PCs, tablets and smartphones) to smart devices like light bulbs, video cameras, sensors and control devices, smart sockets. It enables application services for the intelligent management of environments and production sites, allowing the optimization of electricity and water consumption and improving efficiency (Smart Building). As part of the BRAVO power grid, it will also bring value to innovative projects such as Predictive Maintenance or surveillance of electrical substations.
With a quarter of employees working in the R&D laboratories, SELTA is the leading Italian manufacturer of technologies and solutions for Enterprise Communications, Ultra-Broadband networks, Automation of Electricity Grids and Cyber Security, an area for which it collaborates with the Italian Ministry of Interior and Defense.
In Italy, SELTA is located in Cadeo (Piacenza), Tortoreto (Teramo) and Rome; abroad, SELTA operates with a consolidated network of partners. References include governments, public administration, companies of all sizes, telecom operators, service providers and utilities in over 20 countries worldwide.
